Dr. Carol Walton has been leading natural history trips for over 35 years to many different areas in the world. She grew up in Panama and attributes this to her early love of and lifelong fascination with the tropical rainforest.
Carol attended Louisiana State University, earning a bachelors degree in Zoology and a doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. During all her years at university however, it was the Amazon rainforest that held her attention the most. She spent twelve summers working as a naturalist guide at a remote rainforest lodge in southeastern Peru and also participated in many scientific expeditions to unknown areas of that country.
Dr. Rick LeCouteur graduated from the University of Sydney, Australia, in 1974. After a year in private small animal practice in Sydney, Australia, he completed an Internship and Residency in Small Animal Surgery at the University of Guelph in Ontario, Canada. He then completed a Residency in Neurology and Neurosurgery at the University of California, Davis. He stayed in Davis, and from July 1980 through January 1984, completed a PhD in Comparative Pathology at the University of California in Davis. The area of study was Spinal Cord Injury.
“Wow! I cant believe what an amazing adventure I was on with the two of you. I have traveled a great deal in my life, and always felt I had packed a great deal into my travels, but nothing I have done in the past compared with Vet-Ex! Since my return from the Galapagos, I have been asked by colleagues and students about the trip, and as I describe it their faces light up with amazement! It is during these moments that I fully appreciate how fortunate I was to spend those 11 days with you. I so look forward to my next Vet-Ex trip!!"
~Dr. Mark Mitchell
"Traveling with Carol is like going to fantasy land--the experiences, the animals, and the people are all fantastic. I couldn't have hoped for a more organized and informative adventure."

A. Simply send us an email, letting us know the destination in which you are interested.
Q. How do I know which vaccines/medications I should take to stay healthy while traveling?

A. We will provide information specific to your itinerary. Many countries require that your U.S. passport be valid for 6 months beyond the completion date of your travel.
